![]() ![]() The people of the community have lived in the silo since the “rebellion.” The rulers of the silo live on the top floors, the doctors and lawyers and the middle class live on the middle floors, and the plebes live and work on the bottom floors, where they keep a generator that supplies power to the silo running. The premise is this: An entire community (maybe Earth’s last) has lived for an indeterminate period of time in a silo, which is essentially an underground building hundreds of stories tall that provides all of the community’s needs. I have not read the source material upon which it is based (and we will likely cover the differences in a later post), but it’s good post-apocalyptic fiction that relies on a fairly simple premise and introduces a number of intriguing mysteries. Omniscient – Number of Seasons: 1 Netflix The series ran from 3rd September 2020 to 17th March 2022 on HBO Max. Raised by Wolves – Number of Seasons: 2 NMEĪaron Guzikowski created this sci-fi drama series the plot of which is set in a fictional future time when a great war had destroyed the Earth and revolves around two Androids named Father and Mother who are tasked with bringing up human children on the exoplanet ‘Kepler-22b’. The series ran from 14th January 2016 to 25th July 2018 on USA Network. Condal and Carlton Cuse created this sci-fi drama series the plot of which is set in near future dystopian Los Angeles.Īs an alien force tries to take over a colony of Los Angeles, some of the families begin to collaborate with outsiders while other families start a rebellion against this new order. The series premiered on 4th December 2011 and ran on Channel 4 from 2011 to 2014 and then on Netflix from 2016. The plot features the use of technology to analyze contemporary social issues. The series premiered on 15th July 2020 on Peacock. The plot of the series also features an artificial intelligence system called Indra which was not in the original novel. The plot is set in a utopian society in which monogamy, money, privacy, family, and history are prohibited to achieve stability and peace. This American sci-fi drama series is loosely adapted from Aldous Huxley’s same-named classic novel. Brave New World – Number of Seasons: 1 Netflix ![]() It ran from February 2, 2018, to February 27, 2020, on Netflix. Joel Kinnaman, Anthony Mackie, and Ray Chase portrayed the character of Takeshi in the series. The plot is set in a fictional world in which humans have discovered a way of transferring consciousness to different bodies as a former soldier turned investigator Takeshi Kovacs gets released from prison to solve a murder mystery. Laeta Kalogridis created this American cyberpunk tv series adapted from Richard K. Altered Carbon – Number of Seasons: 2 Entertainment Weekly The series ran from March 19, 2014, to September 30, 2020, on The CW. The plot revolves around survivors of the apocalypse who return to Earth from a space habitat and encounter descendants of survivors on Earth. This post-apocalyptic sci-fi drama series is loosely based on Kass Morgan’s same-named young adult novel series. The series ran from May 17, 2020, to March 28, 2022, on TNT. Seven years have passed since the world has become a frozen wasteland leading the remaining human beings to take shelter on a luxury and perpetually moving train. This post-apocalyptic dystopian thriller series is based on the same named 2013 movie which was adapted from the French graphic novel of 1982- ‘Le Transperceneige’. Snowpiercer – Number of Seasons: 3 The Guardian Elisabeth Moss portrayed the protagonist June Osborne in the award-winning series. ![]()
